Enormous thank you to Girl Scouts River ValleysTroop 25091! Last year, these two young ladies (in 8th grade at the time) were beginning to work on their Silver Award. After researching homelessness, they met with our Emergency Services Manager, Suzie. They then started the big job of coming up ways to fund raise and collect donations for homeless kits. They worked at a hot dog stand at Cub Foods and raised over $200. They asked their dentist, friends, and families for donations. After carefully considering how their fund-raised dollars could make the biggest impact, they started making purchases for the kits. They put the kits together along with a binder about the project so others could do the same. The final kits are sorted by age and gender. The project took a total of 66 hours to complete!
Thank you to these amazing Girl Scouts for making a difference in the lives of our neighbors in need!
