Amazon donates PPE to CAP’s Child Care Aware Distribution

Huge thanks to Amazon for donating masks, gloves, and face shields to CAP Agency’s PPE distribution through our Child Care Aware Program on Tuesday 9/29!

Younger children have been experiencing diminished language skill development because masks obscure caregivers’ faces. Amazon heard about this and donated see-though face shields to help with the issue, along with the additional PPE supplies.

CAP Agency’s Child Care Aware program supports child care programs, the community, and parents. Covid-19 has severely impacted child care programs. In the spring, Governor Walz requested child care facilities to remain open through the lockdown for essential workers. Now that more and more businesses are reopening, child care programs are feeling the increasing strain of stringent health and safety protocols, including sourcing additional cleaning supplies and PPE. In response to this difficulty, the Department of Human Services and Child Care Aware programs are working to create a way for child care programs to access supplies.

Amazon volunteers and CAP Agency staff worked together at our Shakopee site to get the supplies to over 50 childcare programs in our community.

Thank you, Amazon, for your support!
