  Food Shelf: CAP Agency Food Shelf provides a nutritionally balanced, five day supply of food to individuals and families in need. Available to residents of Scott County.

Senior Nutrition: CAP Agency Senior Nutrition offers hot, nutritious mid-day meals to people age 60 and older through our Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels programs. Available to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.
 

WIC:  CAP Agency WIC (Women, Infants & Children) provides nutrition education and supplemental food vouchers to promote good health for pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.
 
     

Clothing

 

Thrift Shop: CAP Agency Thrift Shop in Shakopee offers gently used clothing and small household items for sale at reasonable prices in a department store atmosphere. Open to the public.

 

Emergency Services

 

Emergency Services: Emergency Services helps families get through an immediate crisis for which all other resources have been exhausted. Assistance is limited to funding availability and may be in the form of a grant. It may include assistance into the following areas

-Housing: damage deposits, rent assistance or mortgage forclosure assistance
-Employment: gas money, car repair
-Medical: prescriptions, eyeglasses

Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.

     

Education

 

Healthy Families: CAP Agency Healthy Families provides home visits to support new and expectant parents in the areas of child health and development, positive parenting skills and a safe home environment. Available to residents of Carver or Dakota Counties.
  Head Start: CAP Agency Head Start is a family-centered preschool program designed to provide education, social services and health and nutrition services to children ages 3-5 and their families. Availalble to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.
     

Childcare & Crisis Care 

 

CCR&R: Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) provides services to parents and early childhood professionals regarding childcare. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.  
  Crisis Nursery: CAP Agency Crisis Nursery provides families in crisis 24 hours of overnight care or 5 days of day care at no cost for children age 12 and under. Assistance depends on funding and availability. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.
     

Housing

 
  Housing & Homeless Prevention: CAP Agency Housing and Homeless Prevention programs help people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless, to secure transitional housing or maintain existing housing. Available to residents of Scott, Carver, and Dakota Counties.
     

Energy-Related Assistance

 
  Energy Assistance Program (EAP): CAP Agency EAP provides grants to help pay residential heating bills. Additional funds are available for energy crisis situations and energy-related repairs. Available to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.
  Weatherization: CAP Agency Weatherization provides homeowners with insulation, caulking, minor furnace repairs and furnace replacement services to help reduce heating and cooling costs. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.
     

 Other Services 

    Chore: CAP Agency Chore provides help with indoor and outdoor home maintenance services such as seasonal yard cleanup, snow removal, grass mowing, window washing, heavy indoor cleaning and minor home repairs to help enable older adults to continue to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.
     
  School Supplies: Families eligible for CAP Agency services may receive school supplies for their children. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.
     
  Family Assets for Independence in Minnesota (FAIM): CAP Agency FAIM provides families with money-saving incentives and support for money management and financial planning. Available to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.
     
  Food Support Outreach: The Food Support Program is a county-run, federal program that helps Minnesotans with low-income get the food they need for sound nutrition and well-balanced meals. Under the guidance of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), monthly benefits are issued in the form of a re-usable Electronic Benefit Transfer card (EBT). Available to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota counties.
   
    Getting There: CAP Agency's Getting There program enables families to obtain low-interest financing to purchase affordable transportation for work.  Available to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.
     
  Hope for the Holiday: Hope for the Holiday is an annual "adopt-a-family" holiday gift sponsorship project available to families who are unable to provide holiday gifts for their family. Available to residents of Scott and Carver Counties.
