Description
CAP Agency CHORE
provides help with indoor and outdoor home maintenance services to help
enable older adults to continue to live independently in their own homes
for as long as possible. This program is funded in part by the Metropolitan
Area Agency on Aging as part of the Older Americans Act.
Services
CHORE services include seasonal yard cleanup, snow removal, grass mowing,
window washing, heavy indoor cleaning and minor home repairs.
Seniors who may benefit from additional CAP Agency services such as Energy Assistance, Weatherization, Food Shelf, SHIP health insurance counseling and Emergency Services and/or connections to other community services may also receive referral assistance.
Participation
Adults age 60 and older who live in Scott and Carver counties and who
are in need of this support to remain safely independent are eligible
for CHORE services. Persons may be identified through CAP Agency Senior
Dining and Meals on Wheels programs or through other human service providers
in Scott and Carver counties.
Cost
CHORE
services may be subject to a sliding-fee scale based on income.
Volunteer
Opportunities
Ongoing and one-time volunteer opportunities are available for interested
individuals and groups who are able to perform light to heavy indoor and
outdoor home maintenance tasks.
