The Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) connects families to child care and supports child care professionals in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin,Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.

Services for parents

  • Support in locating, choosing and maintaining quality child care for your children that best fits your needs
  • Information about licensing regulations and care policies
  • Information about special child caring services including crisis nursery, social services programs, and care for children with special needs
  • Training and educational opportunities for child development and care issues
  • Support with parent/provider communication
  • Information regarding current trends in child care and health practices


Services for caregivers

  • Offer support and resources about caregiving options-including center care, out-of-school time care, licensed family child care, and family friend and neighbor care
  • Provide information regarding professional development, career development and continuing education
  • Interactive learning kits for multicultural awareness, diversity, special needs and violence prevention
  • Information regarding financial resources and grants
  • Equipment lending - Porta cribs and strollers
  • Information and support in the areas of child development, environmental issues, contracts and policies networking opportunities and parent provider relationships

Services for Community

  • Data on the current demand for child care
  • Support of legislation enhancing the availability, affordability and quality of child care in Minnesota
  • Participation on the CAP Child Care and Education Advisory Council
  • Information available on the economic impact of child care in your community
